The number one hospitality faux pas, as reported by first-time visitors, is that “Nobody spoke to me.” Of course, most of the time that’s not really accurate. Someone probably said, “Good morning” as the guest walked from front door to the pews. Instead, what the visitor is really saying is, “No one took the time to have a conversation with me. I was essentially ignored.” Which in many churches – more than we’d care to admit – is probably true.
