We live in an increasingly insular world. Too often community changes go unnoticed by those of us in the church. We read the newest census report and wonder where they got their “facts.” In this episode, Drs. Bill and Kris offer strategies on how to explore the community that “is” rather than the community that “was” by using demographics, psychographics, and plain old observation. Part 2 of 3 in the Who Moved My Church? series.

Since 1963 or so, our culture has undergone some radical changes. Never mind we walked on the moon in 1969, a national treasure though it was, microwave ovens, hand calculators, personal computers, the Internet, cell phones, smart phones, tablets, and now Kinect for the workplace has changed our lives. And that’s just the technology changes – change has run rampant through every fiber of our culture. Except maybe for the church. Even “enlightened” churches tend to be 10+ years behind culture in relevance and practice. In this episode, Drs. Kris and Bill will explore some of the cultural changes and how they’ve impacted the church. Part 1 of 3 in the “Who Moved My Church?” series.

Greeting Card Holidays – you know the ones. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, Teacher Appreciation Day, and the list goes on. Although conspiracy theorists suggest they were all creations of Hallmark and the US Post Office, with a little savvy the church can do a LOT with these so called “holidays” that can reach the community outside the church walls. In this episode Drs. Bill and Kris Tenny-Brittian explore how churches can leverage these special days.

One of the most important issues facing church leaders is how to spend their time most effectively. In this episode, Drs. Bill and Kris provide helpful guidance for church leaders when it comes to getting the most done in the allotted time. Episode includes a preview of the upcoming book by Bill T-B and Bill Easum on staffing the effective church (release date 2012 by Baker Books).
