One of the biggest issues with the church comes from the desire to keep our lambs safe from the storms of life and the marauding lions and wolves that are looking for a soul to ravage. And so, when a lost lamb is found, we pull them from their culture in order to protect them. We get them involved in worship, in a small group, singing in the choir or playing in the band, and on at least on committee. In most churches, a new member is as close to fully removed from their culture as possible within six months of their affiliation with the church and the faith. The problem, though, is “Where have all the missionaries gone?” If your members aren’t “out there” in the world, how will the world ever hear the gospel? In this episode, Drs.
